Water companies in England prioritised shareholders over customers for years. Now we're all paying the price. Enough is enough. Water in 90% of the rest of the world is publicly owned. It’s time to end the failed ideological experiment, and bring England’s water into public ownership.
First Bus want me to create a secure complicated password. But don’t let my password manager handle it. And don’t let me paste or copy the password. And if I switch back and forth so I can type the password I’ve noted, they clear the form again.
Our local buses have been “improved” by making them less frequent again. Half hourly, timed to arrive in town a little after the hour, if they’re on time, so you often need to catch the previous one. Oh, except they vanish so often that you need to catch the bus before that to be safe.
Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.
This is a good line about how power works From Oli Dugmore in the NS

Does Europe still believe in human rights? In an op-ed in EUObserver, I warn that the undermining of the rights of LGBTI people serves as the tip of the spear in a broader backlash against human rights protection overall. #WorldPride www.coe.int/en/web/commi...
Attention, UK actors in need of headshots:
Back when I had Twitter I used to offer free headshots for low-income authors, not sure I have much reach here but the offer is still there. London or Birmingham (although I’m in Glasgow and Edinburgh at the end of Aug and can fit in a session. Will have lights so can be indoors).
Imagine you can’t see a distant car because there’s a fence post in the way (eclipsing it!) You step to one side and you can now see the car. It isn’t eclipsed from that viewpoint. Same with a solar eclipse: a narrow strip of the earth’s surface will see a full eclipse. People either side by…
I mean, I know you have to protect your eyes but other than that, don’t you just look up?!
I’m in London Thursday to Tuesday for a wedding , is there anything cool on. My friend ( bisexual tattooist woman from Finland who I met in Sapporo who tattooed a tamagotchi on me ) is coming but goes on Sunday so is there anything cool to do apart from going to all the uniqlos? X
I thought I had a joke about the Symplegades but it just crashed
I have a joke about Poseidon, but it’s probably too deep for you
I love how our local hedgehog is happy to go about their business around us.
Knowledge is power, but before I was (lightly) diagnosed I never used to make noises.
Eek. I’ve been followed by a serious person. At least he sings and cooks so there’s some hope.
I love how well lit everywhere is under a full moon when you get far enough away from artificial light. It’s magical; and we all need a touch of magic.
Excited that we’re seeing my nephew (in law) and his gf for lunch tmrw. Neither of us has a large extended family, and we haven’t seen him for many years. Think he’s about 30 now and it was borrowing him and his younger brother at about the ages of 7 & 9 that got us talking about adoption.
Whoever came up with this title should really look up the word ultimate
