Screaming “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me” with a few thousand of your newest friends is a tonic for the soul in 2026. Apologies for the camera work, filming while jumping is hard.

Available on the neighborhood listserv “a scooter without a brake.” It’s no “baby shoes for sale never worn,” but that scooter ad also tells a story.

Cape Verde tried to beat Argentina honorably. Paraguay tried to beat France with absolutely shithouse tactics and goonery. The ref sucked. I award Paraguay no points.

Tragically, but unsurprisingly, a rider died at the Isle of Man TT. I don’t understand how an event that’s so lethal is still allowed to go forward.

My kids were arguing over who gets to cut the grass this week and earn $20. I started a Dutch auction, and I have a deal for a free cut to get a good reference. Follow me for more parenting tips.

@anildash.com I really enjoyed your most recent piece. The movement for more ethical AI falling apart because people can’t decide to license it under the MIT or Creative Commins licenses is unfortunately a possible outcome that you are article briefly foreshadowed.

Triceratops is obviously the correct answer. And I’m also surprised to see how many Americans don’t have a favorite dinosaur. I would be immediately suspect of anyone who couldn’t tell me their favorite dinosaur.

A shocking new poll result: Many Americans somehow don't have a favorite dinosaur. And only 6% give the correct answer (triceratops). Check out YouGov's new polling on Americans and dinosaurs: yougovamerica.substack.com/p/whats-your...

A split bar chart of YouGov polling data with the headline: "Americans are most likely to say T. Rex is their favorite dinosaur, but many don't have a favorite."

The chart has the sub-headline: "Which of the following is your favorite dinosaur? (%)."

The chart has the note: "Note: "Other" includes responses of archaeopteryx, spinosaurus, plesiosaur, ankylosaurus, allosaurus, parasaurolophus, dilophosaurus, diplodocus, iguanadon, and pachycephalosaurus, as well as responses of "other." We know pterodactyls and plesiosaurs aren't dinosaurs. Opinion about dinosaurs comes from the question, "How much do you like or dislike dinosaurs?""

I haven’t seen a single story discussing the TSA workers’ labor action as a reason for the deal that ended the shutdown. The need for a deal came from their friction. It’s labor 101, and it’s not being reported.
