What does it mean for something to be Turing complete? I answer this question, and more, through a series of fully interactive Turing machine simulations! Play, pause, step forwards and backwards, and even write your own Turing machine programs in my latest blog post. samwho.dev/turing-machi...

State of JS 2024 is out and... what a year for the projects I work on! - @vite.dev and VoidZero ecosystem projects sweep almost all the awards (again) - @vuejs.org had a strong comeback year! More details in thead👇

As a non-tech person, when I first read this I thought it meant the company giving me time to create miniature figurines of the insects I find at the office, like cockroaches and such. I was like “weird take but I can support this” 😆

just flagging that this is a UI mockup and the list of features doesn’t necessarily match what will be released. we need to get better at avoiding setting expectations via mockups since it’s open source so people poke at every branch

been hacking on this freeform-ish canvas for having chats in branches since yesterday i know some apps have this but haven't used them tbf. what are peoples general thoughts on chat branching in general?

📢 After more than 11 years of working at Adverity in various positions, I’ve decided to look for new challenges in 2025. 🚀 I'm excited to share that starting in January, I'll be joining the Frontend Platform Team at @sentry.io.

I'm looking for a new job! 15yr+ JS/TS experience, also know rust Love tooling, code analysis, performance, application layer, build pipelines, platform abuse Love startups, web/nodejs, vanilla JS/TS Remote only (from NL) Not a front-end engineer DM's are open Sharing is caring ;)

alright musicsky give me some new music. something that sounds fresh and beautiful and full of life. i don’t care what genre. albums

One reason bluesky feels different is that folks who were lurkers are now participating here (and not because they were baited to reply in anger). Doubling down, if you'd like to chat and meet new people, play your favorite Taylor Swift song, and jump into these threads to ignite some conversations.

I'm collecting migration stories for a blog post. Would you reply with your thoughts? Why are you here? Do you feel bluesky could one day replace X? Or what do you enjoy, is missing, or you would prefer to change? And if you've posted about this before or read a good one, would you link to it? 🙏

I created a Bluesky Starter Pack! 🎉 It includes ~75 wonderful people in the web dev community who are doing inspiring work. I know I’ve missed some folks; I plan on adding to it over time. Starter packs are such a great idea. Immediately makes Bluesky feel less lonely for newcomers. 😄
