Anthropic, OpenAI, and everybody else can freely experiment with hacking tools. What they can't do is fail to sandbox them properly (air gap is 100% effective!), the tool goes beyond their parameters, and it hacks other systems. That's no different from a worm. The AI's "intent" is not relevant. 2/2
It's interesting in the mythology of AI how much "taste" as a concept serves as a stand-in for "everything that human beings are good at."

I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.
