For so long I've been wanting to be able to turn off reposts individually and now it's here!! I tried turning off ALL reposts but then I'd miss a lot of things from when I wasn't online. (It's still useful when the TL is full of high drama.)
Faine Greenwood@faineg.com · 2mo agoit’s really adorably naive that a certain number of extremely online Bluesky users are CONVINCED that nobody actually wants the “don’t view other people’s reposts” feature, tbh. (Pretty sure lots and lots of people do in fact Want This).
Recently upgraded my Steam Deck to a used Windows handheld. I don't really go in for OS wars but I was shocked at how bad the Windows 11 experience is as a daily driver. It's fine as a debloated VM but this was really awful. So, yeah, I just finished a Bazzite install and it seems nice!

Look what iOS 26 has done to my iPad. Images of trying to view a bsky post (in the browser) & a YouTube video (in the app.) Neither device nor app is frozen. +/- a min, waiting for the visuals to load, like it's '97 & I'm on dialup. Other times things load normally, I never know when it'll happen.
Anna Ressman@annaressman.bsky.social · 4mo agoI'm so sick of things being broken in ways that are out of my control. iOS 26 is the worst iOS ever, full stop. It's made my device slow & frustrating. (I don't need advice.) No OS update should do this to a modern, supported device! I can't fix a broken ass OS & Apple won't allow downgrades.
A little project I'd been planning was building a NAS to cancel all the streaming subscriptions. But I can't build a little NAS as a fun project bc the prices for RAM and storage are ridiculous. I'll probably just cancel them & buy used BlueRays to play the old fashioned way.

It just needs a good cleaning & to double the RAM & the size of the main drive. I was clever & built w/ DDR4 RAM so it won't cost too much, right? WRONG 😂 That RAM is $1100 now! And it's $900 for the bigger NVME!
