It's all vibes. Idk I just think about everyone claiming polls are getting better than ever and blah blah and every time there's an actual election it's like "oh the Republican in Nebraska outperformed polls by 38 points" no introspection about that at all

I really do think Woke 1 is very gone and Woke 2 is largely imaginary. I think Dems will be strong in the midterms but it's like "red wave!!!!" posting in 2022. A lot of this stuff is too big and too baked in now.

Crapping out with Asians isn't a shocker because the party has been extremely poor at representing their interests lately.

I have an even harsher take which is that many of their children don't actually have anything wrong with them and they keep trying to find out why they're disappointed when they just should be more realistic about their kid being normal.

One of my very harsh takes is that the vaccine thing is driven by moms (and dads) who don't want to blame themselves (genes, their bodies, etc.) and want an external bogeyman for what's wrong.

This is absolutely true for clothing. Some companies have A/B tested it, and the majority of consumers prefer having lots of cheaper, lower quality clothes instead of slightly more expensive, nicer clothes.

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

An apology under these circumstances does nothing to mollify your existing detractors, and it attracts new ones operating in even worse faith. The next Bluesky dogpile that is satisfied by an apology and dies down as a result of it will be the first.

No doubt. Hollywood is full of people who have had absurd lives especially visibly shaped by pure luck but they can't really use the standard technique to cope with that (mainstream religion being nearly gauche). So they invent stupid rituals that at their worst kill people.
