Some weird lady out there. Eclectic mix of crap. Gay. Currently on my vampire bullshit. Volcano Twitter before it was cool 🌋

I really do think Woke 1 is very gone and Woke 2 is largely imaginary. I think Dems will be strong in the midterms but it's like "red wave!!!!" posting in 2022. A lot of this stuff is too big and too baked in now.

I don't really know how you're supposed to punish kids anymore so sometimes I just come up with hypotheticals and wonder whether or not they're technically abusive. Send a child to a small room wallpapered with AI images of them old and without friends when they're acting like a jerk?

Republicans love pushing vocational-only education instead of comprehensive-education because they want a healthy supply of low-cost servants and less competition for the professional and boss jobs they want their own kids to have.

In a college sociology class in the late 1980s I was assigned a Marxist analysis of education that argued that the US education system is designed primarily to produce efficient workers for the labor market. And now Trump’s Department of Education is just tweeting it out.

oh my god no it does not. Canada has maha type cranks. The UK does. Japan does, Germany does, Sweden does, India does, France does IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MATERIAL CONDITIONS OF THE SYSTEM, WHICH YES ARE BROKEN MAHA IS A EUGENICS MOVEMENT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

I have no idea why immigration exploded in prominence as a political issue, but any reason that we have for that has to account for it being a huge issue in the United States, Europe, Japan, and South Africa, among others.

Basically The guy who invented working with horses without beating the shit out of them has died. We must never forget sometimes huge cultural shifts can be the work of primarily one single person, and can be newer than we assume. www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing...

Horse Whisperer Roberts Dies at Age 91

Monty Roberts, the renowned "horse whisperer" who bought and sold a dual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) winner and became a friend of the late Queen, died Aug. 1 at his farm in California. He was 91.

Adele's film debut will be in Tom Ford's self-funded "Cry to Heaven" movie. This is very strange because I cannot think of which character from that novel she would be. However, it is obvious exactly who she'd be from Anne Rice's other novel set in Venice he doesn't have the rights to.

Top 3 cinema experiences ever: 3. "Where The Wild Things Are" opening weekend with a bunch of parents with little kids 2. "Beau is Afraid" in IMAX (several times!) 1. "Tickled" at a movie theater that served food

This is a minor point from earlier in the canon but Garak tells Sisko about Kira's location basically out of the goodness of his own heart in "Second Skin" and Sisko just blackmails him about it (???). Like ok he isn't going to tell you shit next time. dick behavior.

The cardassian union actually ends up worse off for making the right choice at the very end! The federation and its allies would never have killed all those civilians! and it wasn't necessary in concluding the dominion war at that point!

By the way, this is also why I think it's stupid when people complain that modern education doesn't make Michelangelos anymore. Well shit, the Renaissance only made one, that's why you still know what that one single guy's name was.

It's like a lot of people want to I guess blame vaccines for the fact that travel sports didn't turn their kid into the next Kobe Bryant, but there really aren't a lot of Kobe Bryant's, which is why you know who Kobe Bryant was

I have an even harsher take which is that many of their children don't actually have anything wrong with them and they keep trying to find out why they're disappointed when they just should be more realistic about their kid being normal.

One of my very harsh takes is that the vaccine thing is driven by moms (and dads) who don't want to blame themselves (genes, their bodies, etc.) and want an external bogeyman for what's wrong.

An apology under these circumstances does nothing to mollify your existing detractors, and it attracts new ones operating in even worse faith. The next Bluesky dogpile that is satisfied by an apology and dies down as a result of it will be the first.
