This is the crux of it right here! I charge the same amount for every six minutes of my time. Sometimes that's a good deal for the client because I am doing something high-value, and sometimes it is a not-so-good deal for the client because I am doing something low-value.

I think any lawyer who believes AI will be able to replace their paralegal anytime soon either (1) has a bad paralegal or (2) does not understand what makes their paralegal good.

Devs wondering how we get senior devs if the ecosystem for junior devs goes away. Doctors talking about not needing interns. Lawyers not needing paralegals. There's an ecological aspect to this and we need a plan.
Yeah, it turns out that you actually cannot have a bipartisan consensus that deficits don't matter for 25 years and get away with it forever.

It’s also why I’m optimistic about AI! I have been kicked in the head by several horses.
The millenarian cult at AI labs versus the luddites who refuse to accept that anything novel is happening at all; “only God can create minds.” It’s a great, classic sci-fi setup but it sort of loses its luster when it’s real
