I’m Laura. I’m in Delaware. I am BlueSky’s foremost raccoon domestication program advocate.
Its consumerist thinking rather than civic thinking. You arent at the store, you are fulfilling your responsibility to help choose who will represent you in government.
"Deserve" and "loyalty" are words that you should not use about countries and politicians generally. Leads to bad thinking.
Preaching to the choir here, but it is ridiculous that so many Haitians have been legally living here, working, and being valued members of the community for *16 years* without having a straightforward pathway to citizenship.
This is why we need a Manhattan Project of people in advertising to ensure that every single American knows that the Republican Party did all this.
I fundamentally do not know how to square the politics whereby Democrats will essentially have to tell the American people that because they (the voters) made an extremely stupid decision, they need to lower their expectations substantially for the foreseeable future, but here we are.
If you ever find yourself thinking like the screenshotted post, please look into starting treatment for depression or changing the treatment you’re getting. It’s not healthy to feel like this, and you don’t have to.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
So many horror stories began with, "I guess we're lost. Let's go ask for directions from someone at that creepy castle." Now those guys in the castles have nothing to do. Probably playing wordle.
I started out watching this video thinking “wow what a cute program idea!” and I ended it thinking “this would be my supervillain origin story.”

My 3 year old made a Hot Wheels track that Penelope the cat ADORES. So happy for both of them.
I want us to burst into Bolsonaro’s hospital room and see an x-ray showing that he swallowed an entire mouse trap because there was cheese on it.
The Tasting History Max Miller must HATE this guy.
The Max Miller Twitter live was creepy as hell and also very incriminating.
cop: did he send any texts around the time of the crash? cop 2: he sent a post that reads "padding my three track album with 26 skits and interludes" cop: not bad but it ain't going viral cop 2: posting isn't just about going viral cop: (sighs) not this shit again
I’m seeing a lot of classroom decor on my FYP that isn’t gonna survive first contact with the fire marshal.
There's a whole industry of Manly Coffees now that are just shitty Folgers knockoffs with names like Battle Warrior Brew and Sexpest Instant Blend
I hate slopulism, but after 2024, I am not at all surprised to see more Democrats trying it out.
there is a strain of lefty discourse where you can’t come to any unflattering conclusions about the populace—those must be explained away by how they are being acted upon by capital—but I think you’ll understand things better if you understand capital can also exploit weaknesses it didn’t create
New: We found 50 cops who misused Flock cameras and other license-plate readers for personal purposes, often to spy on their girlfriends or ex-wives. He "watched every single move I made. ... Who do you turn the chief of police in to?" wapo.st/3S6rTuo
She left her ex. He secretly tracked her through a network of policing cameras.
Flock’s array of license-plate cameras was built to fight crime. But at least 50 law enforcement officers were charged with or accused of misusing it and other systems.

but because of media consolidation (and other factors), if it’s not happening in NY or DC, it’s not making it to national news

Nearly 20% of US "news analysts, reporters and journalists" are in the New York and DC metro areas, up from a little over 10% a quarter century ago. Gift link: www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
“It’s a distraction” is nonsense most of the time, but the Fauci stuff actually does seem like that. The cyclospora and measles outbreaks have them wanting to get their base mad about the idea of public health again.
This is absolutely true for clothing. Some companies have A/B tested it, and the majority of consumers prefer having lots of cheaper, lower quality clothes instead of slightly more expensive, nicer clothes.
I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.
