Real big different between Berlant and affect theory's reception into academia is how Berlant at their best really connected with other thinkers and practical things rather than just pointing at things and yelling 'affect!' (which they sometimes did)

I think this stuff is why, (perhaps even especially for a disability), Neurodivergence is necessarily a political relationship to the production of space and time under capitalism.

I think its tremendous that a whole decolonization process, a 'Tolstoy of the Zulus' and at least one 'Wind of Change' later the discourse about The Odyssey is still being led by an argument between two people from the British ruling class and the Right Wing STILL complain about both of them.

Horrifying: only 38 of around 190 people are thought to have survived a 25-day attempt to reach the Canary Islands (Europe).
This has to be seen alongside the 're-industrialisation' derangement. There's a contempt for education and a view that that somehow we're overproducing soft desk jockeys in the face of an industrial future where Britain is a global power - but the evidence isn't there.
