Written from the grubby gas station you probably didn't stop at. ANoN is making a comic about supernatural teens who are trying to pretend to be normal... And then one girl who always could tell. paranoidcomic.com

Watched this for the first time yesterday. I may be a sour little fusspot, but this had enough drama and honest bits in it to win me over. Recommended.

I finally read Taiyo Matsumoto's Tekkonkinkreet manga. I loved the film version and his later manga but this was my first time seeing his early style. He got more refined later on, but even here there's a sense of total confidence and naturalism.

The narrative purpose of Ozai burning Zuko is to make sure you understand this guy has zero qualms about hurting kids. Not a single doubt about it. Hell, he probably does it for fun on weekends. Just lines up a whole conga of babies to slap with horrific scars.

As soon as we have confirmation we're moving to a new place (!) I have a bunch of panels of PARANOiD to drop, and a conversation about our production habits

There's currently a dry thunderstorm over Portland and holy crap I woke up to an explosion that rocked the house before I knew what was happening.

i guess maybe part of it is it seems like many of these still are operating as if they're making something for a big studio and for a broad audience even though there's no higher ups saying what is and isn't allowed. you could get so fucking weird and personal
