I used to have one of those Delta tarmac vehicles parked next to me every night. My neighbor preserved his deck with jet engine oil and gave me the best piece of advice for air travel which is to kiss your ass goodbye cause once you're in that seat it's all beyond your control.

I truly wish Howie Rose all the best and I hope he gets to enjoy a nice long retirement. Maybe he watched Murph wait too long to retire, because he passed away just a few months after his last broadcast. I know @zippy1981.bsky.social wants to die at his desk, but that's not for everybody.
The label said "Donut Holes, 10 oz., $4.99" and the product I bought was actually "Donuts, 20 oz, $4.49" so while I acquired twice the donut matter, I was in fact overcharged based on the stated prices.

Seems like a good time to point out that the Obama inserted cuts into NIH as part of his poison pill budget and that was the first time it went down. That's the year we couldn't afford printer paper so we could not print.
About 10 years ago the postdocs started asking "what if we ever get our budget cut?" and the PI of the lab assured everyone that as long as white men get cancer, NIH will get its funding.
