I'm not exaggerating when I say that I routinely see LLMs suggest 10x the amount of code needed to solve a problem. Something you could solve by changing a few existing lines of code is suddenly a whole new branch of logic with its own tree of classes and test cases.

As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

not saying it can't get worse but this week really feels like a straightforward depiction of what worst-case 'post truth' information apocalypse ppl were warning of in the late 2010s

I think this administration has vastly overestimated the rest of the world's willingness to put up with imperial oil war bullshit right now. I don't think this ends well. No war.

I never liked roast turkey until I convinced everyone to let me take over roasting duties and try butterflying the turkey last year. As it turns out, I just hate overcooked, under seasoned turkey and am now permanently in charge of roasting the family's turkeys.

Disappointed in Droidcon's decision to move the conference from NYC to Orlando. I attended every DCNYC event since I graduated in 2015 and cherish my memories of every one. Unlikely that I will be traveling to Florida anytime soon, so I guess it's the time to start attending London and Berlin confs.

Android’s new security screening feature is bad and I fucking hate it. They wanted a mechanism for Google’s security team to block malicious developers. But the same mechanism can be used by the state to control what we can do with our devices.

A new layer of security for certified Android devices

Starting in 2026 and in select countries first, Android apps must be registered to a verified developer in order to be installed.

Why should a person on a bike get a criminal summons for traveling 16 mph, while the driver of a 5,000 pound SUV doesn't even receive a ticket for speeding at 35 mph? Mayor Adams continues his war on biking with this backward rule — despite >90% of public comments opposing it.
