Extremely proud that my @aaup.org - @aft.org local United Academics @local6741.bsky.social submitted and led the campaign for this resolution from start to finish. I had the extraordinary honor to speak for it from the floor last night, surrounded by our whole United Academics crew!

✅ RESOLUTION PASSED: Supporting Pre-Contract Unionism in Higher Ed "The AFT will affirm its commitment to pre-contract unionism in higher ed and marshal its organizing power to help non-collective bargaining members..." www.aft.org/resolution/s...

In Nevada, #HigherEd faculty and graduate workers are the only state public employees that do not have the right to collectively bargain. Now there's support from our national organizations for pre-contract unions is so important--to give us resources to fight for our rights! @nfaatunr.bsky.social

We're gearing up for the elections and then another #NVLeg session. We'll be watching for all the union/collective bargaining/workers' rights bills that got vetoed last session to return. Hopefully to pass under Governor Ford!
