What does "pre-contract unionism" mean? It means we become a union by acting like a union. Many of us don't have collective bargaining rights, but that doesn't stop us from coming together as colleagues and using our collective power to fight for ourselves and our students. @aft.org @aaup.org

Our historic resolution to support pre-contract unionism in higher-ed has officially passed on the floor of the AFT convention! This win gives us the resources to build on the already explosive growth and incredible victories of non-collective bargaining chapters across the US. @aft.org @aaup.org

Professional employees are the BIGGEST group of public workers in Nevada to not have their right to collectively bargain enshrined in law. We need those protections so our bosses aren’t both management AND the final decision maker on our contracts! Equal rights for public workers!

We're gearing up for the elections and then another #NVLeg session. We'll be watching for all the union/collective bargaining/workers' rights bills that got vetoed last session to return. Hopefully to pass under Governor Ford!

UNR NFA was proud to support our union giving public comment at the Board of Regents today. CBAs make policies clear and transparent. Shared understanding by management and faculty means less conflict and better working conditions (which means we can focus on our educational mission).
