Solidarity with all trans and non-binary people today as the UK government brings into force the discriminatory and dangerous EHRC Code of Practice. The code, and the interpretation of the Equality Act that underpins gives license to segregation, harassment and violence. We must keep fighting.

Councillors in southern Oxfordshire say they want to “provide trans and non-binary residents of our district reassurance that they will not be discriminated against in the provision of council services”, with resolutions at July meetings of both South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse councils.

Residents in Marston, Oxford, are petitioning Oxfordshire County Council & the bus companies for better bus services: there is currently no public transport from Marston to the train station, Headington & Summertown, with long delays & disruptions on the two existing bus services.

I find the idea that Shabana Mahmood has made 'progress'on immigration farcical. She has normalised Far-Right talking points, helping Reform. Undermined the UK economy, decimated the rights of migrants and destroyed civil liberties. The county would be in a better place if she had done nothing.

Appointing John Healey as Chancellor is a big red flag. There's no evidence he supports any sort of transformative economic agenda. He does support hiking diverting money from the NHS, education and frontline services in favour of bombs, though!

Traffic filers have been extensively considered and would already be in, but for the Botley Road situation. It is an absolutely nonsense to suggest that Local Government Reorgansiation means they shouldn't now come in. The abolition of the County Council has been known for more than a year.

Very very welcome decision - Greater Oxford was the only option that made sense and ensured people in our city actually got a say rather than being overwhelmed by rural voters! Green run Greater Oxford on the horizon? 👀👀
