Lolllll the AP and everyone else starting to call El-Sayed the winner now. Meanwhile those of us who watched the six hour livestream NBC was doing with Steve Kornacki when he called it at 2 am have been telling y'all for the last eight hours. Glad everyone else in the media is catching up finally.
This is also a big night for Muslim Americans. The U.S. has never had a Muslim senator. The post-9/11 country my generation grew up in has been plagued by rampant Islamophobia—some of that bled into this Michigan race. El-Sayed’s win tonight is a huge deal.

The questions are no longer about whether Talarico is ahead and can he win. The answers are clearly yes and yes. Even Fox News now has him over 50%. The question is whether Texas Republicans can successfully suppress enough votes to swing the election. They are taking active measures to do so now.
