Therapy is good, yall. But you have to make concrete goals, be honest/open with them, and put in the work for it to be effective. You can't expect to tell them very little and get anything out of it. It also takes time. Nothing big will be accomplished quickly.

Dear young artist/crafter: Your work not being seen as a "real job" is an ongoing effect of capitalism, and misogyny. The people telling you to get a real job will never value what you do, even when they need it. Know your worth, and never give them an inch.
I’m gonna say virtually all authors need to get serious about textiles. Who is weaving them? Out of what? Who’s turning them into clothes and how much does it cost and do you have any idea how HARD all of that was before modern mills
To write in the classic high fantasy mould, you need not be hung up on food specifically, but there must be SOME very mundane thing you're sincerely interested in and prepared to describe in excruciating detail every time it comes up. Clothing. Furniture. Architecture. It doesn't work without it.
Me: Why don't you just buy a bigger desk NPR: It's... that's not the point Me: It's only tiny because you bought a tiny one
getting tired of people on the left still launching substack newsletters after all the reporting on that company in recent years
HEARTBREAKING: Plastic polyhedron is treated horribly by superstitious person who doesn't understand probability distribution.
I desperately need a full-time job. Any moderately paying job. Want me to keep your lore and only come out after weeks to say "this is what soup is in your world"? Sure. Lock me in a closet and have me rewrite everything over and over again? Why not. ANYTHING.
Someone in my office had to go through an hour long transcript to change a trans person's pronouns because the AI took their birth gender and ran with the pronouns. Took an hour to do.

Me and Osco are beefing and I'm not talking about their deli department.
I’ll never get used to seeing my name in TTRPG book credits. It’s so cool. I wanna write even more. Hire me 🫡 I’d love to work on more systems, settings, and adventures.
One of the things I love doing is putting pokemon cards in little libraries. They are officially poke stops now. I carry a stock in my bag so if I see one no matter where I am, I can add some.
99% of the time, when someone accuses you of selective outrage, it’s a way of politically demobilizing you and shutting you up “Why are you angry about data centers instead of fast fashion” isn’t about making you care about fast fashion. It’s about shutting you up about data centers And visa versa
There's always a non-negligible number of folks that go from SDCC to GenCon. I hate to break it to you, but COVID is still a thing, conventions are still super spreaders, and you should still test and wear masks if you care about community at all!

Hey, while you're fighting for accommodations and recognition of trans people, don't forget trans men and non-binary people. 💗🙏
The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.
Every so often I teach someone how to spin yarn on a spindle. And I always tell them that the first yarn you make will not be good yarn, and it's not meant to be, because right now you are not making wool into yarn, you're making yourself into a spinner.
I can be normal about some things. Jay Som is apparently not one of them.
Ordered groceries, got less than half of them BUT they gave me two giant cases of sodas neither of us will drink.
Hey, growing past body shaming includes no longer making penis size jokes. People who are bad are not bad because they have small penises. People who have small penises simply have them due to genetics, biology, and happenstance. It doesnt and should not reflect on their character in any way.
Jessie (the cat) has become so attached that she races me to the bathroom, trying to get in before I close the door. If she doesn't make it in time or I kick her out, she SCREAMS. She woke up Luca who told me she was trying to open the door but was too small to reach the handle.
Okay look I love Jimothy as much as the next Washingtonian expat but I just read some abled nonsense extolling his resilience and honey Sweetheart Babygirl (gn) The raccoon does not have willpower. This is just how disabled life is. We survive because we have to. It’s not inspiring. It’s life.
I’m home. My apartment is destroyed by water damage, and my phone is shut off. I’m currently operating off of wifi. I’ve lost a lot of clothes and really personal items that I’ve had for years. All of my shoes aside from the ones I packed are also gone, plus roaches are covering my walls.
