I remember working at the shoe store back in 2009 and saying something like "I wish guy's socks were as cool as women's socks", but not acting on the impulse to just buy myself a pair of ladies socks with cute patterns on them. I should have seen the signs

As far as I'm concerned, this is a part of a genocide. We've decided it's more cost effective to simply euthanize "useless eaters" rather than house them. This is the logic of eugenics, and it's exactly what how the nazis viewed elderly and disabled people.

I can't understand how people can come away from reading Marx (who spoke so highly of liberation and agency), call themselves communists (which is predicated on voluntarism and self governance), and then build an ideology which explicitly rejects literally all of these things.

Dustin did an incredibly brave thing If you see someone doing an incredibly brave thing, what is your plan to help? How many times do we have to see something before we risk ourselves for our neighbors? I'm not trying to be cruel. But we all need practice.

Also, a woman was handcuffed at a subway station in NYC (Franklin Ave) when she intervened asking why a delivery man was asked to show work permit by undercover agents. There is a video of that.

Okay, I get that some of you are tired of discourse, but I need you to NOT get mad at folks for taking a swing at a right-wing grifter. No, they're not going to just go away if we don't give them oxygen. Especially if they've got the ear of the richest, most powerful Nazi IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.

What if instead of walkable cities we have floatable cities? And instead of streets we have waterpark style lazy rivers? And instead of cars we have pool tubes? And everyone just carries their pool tube around and drifts down the long network of pools to their destinations

"What would x fictional character do in this situation" can sometimes be a good way to think about a problem. Not to do what they would do, but to get yourself thinking about the problem outside of your head.

You know we're kind of still where the pre-Socratics were, when you think about it. They were all like, "Stuff is made out of water. No, it's fire. No, it's actually numbers." And now we're like, "Everything is strings. No, it's fields. Actually, it really was numbers!"

Had my first trans consultation yesterday! Got a bunch of resources and info. On the waiting list for some resources until next spring, but apparently I could have been on hormones this whole time??? My doctor told me to wait for this consultation lmao. I've been told to find a new doctor.

I know everyone says this, but the amount of STUFF libraries have available digitally is just breathtaking. My library system here in Baton Rouge has thousands of Udemy courses available. And they're free! They're so free. Libraries are cool. Librarians are cool. Support your libraries.
