Voting is not going to change police culture or make police officers start valuing life, and 'more training' won't do this either. Protests and civil disobedience on the other hand keeps the police murder of Corey Ruiz on the agenda and can force stakeholders to the table.
But what a representative example of the liberal Madison response to the protest encampment. It's not the police murder of Corey Ruiz that they are angry about, it's their inability to get to Willy Street Co-Op and the prospect that their voting bloc might lose that truly enrages them.
Your little oopsie "mistakes" had me worrying for a year of my life about my partner going to jail for up to a decade based on lies likely fed to you by the top of the federal government. Show everyone what you're covering up in these emails and texts. There's a reason you don't want them released.
Boutros acknowledges 'mistakes' in 'Broadview 6' case but says sanctions, special counsel aren't needed
Chicago's top federal prosecutor noted in a court filing that his office has already dropped charges in the case, implemented “robust root-cause changes” and started the process of reviewing over 1,00...

Camp defenders just kicked out some city employees who tried to enter. The employees came in and didn’t say who they were or why they’re here. There is some confusion about who is who with the city because all of them are wearing the same safety vests without identifiers.
I’m being told by a camp defender that some St. Paul cops tried to stop people distributing food here yesterday until St. Paul council member Hwajeong Kim stepped in.
About an hour ago, St. Paul police tried to come in through this entrance on the camp’s flank, which is barricaded. Rep. Finke was able to deescalate the situation, getting city workers to agree not to move in. There’s about four cop cars just chilling here now. Second picture is the barrier.
This is one of the tables set up here that’s giving out water, food, bags and other items to camp residents. I’ve volunteered at one of the donation tables here a few times. Hit me up if you want to be connected to someone that can get you plugged into helping out at these encampments.
So we’re about an hour into the official city sweep of the Pig’s Eye/Fish Hatchery encampment. A couple of entrances are barricaded with mostly wood pallets, which has prevented city workers from moving in machinery to clear the camp. This has allowed camp residents to move themselves out.
New: Police in Wisconsin used Flock to create a pretext to search a man's car for weed. Their justification? He drove from Wisconsin to Michigan, a “known source state for marijuana as it is legal there,” and Flock showed he "travels to Michigan frequently." www.404media.co/cops-used-fl...
Cops Used Flock to Track a Man Across State Lines to Create Pretext to Search His Car for Weed
"The vehicle travels to Michigan frequently which is a known source state for marijuana as it is legal there," a probable cause justification reads.

I can vouch for this based on what I’ve also heard. You don’t get to the point of making those comments to your chief of police without charge practice on more vulnerable people first.
Guess I’ll be part of the Kaohly Her whisper campaign but a St. Paul knower confides maybe the police aren’t making shit up, they’re just the only department with the political cover to go public. Ask your St. Paul government friends if Her’s treatment of colleagues and underlings goes beyond SPPD.
There's something diminishing about living in a world where men's abuse is so ubiquitous and unimpeded, and still women are chided for not thinking enough of men's woes, men's harms, men's feelings. We're constantly asked why we don't tolerate our endless violation with more dignity.
It's demoralizing living in a nonstop Abuse-a-thon: we've had to learn the sordid details of so many men's abhorrent behavior; I mean this summer has been Graham Platner, Andrew Tate, Jared Leto, Max Miller, plus the horrific L.A. rape-murder of the child by the rapper, to name a few lowlights.
Kat Donnelly, a nurse with Healthcare for the Homeless, spent Tuesday scrambling to refill medications and make sure patients knew where to find her ahead of the Pig's Eye Park encampment closure Wednesday morning.
‘Difficult to say goodbye’: Residents, volunteers worry what’s next as St. Paul clears encampment
Many residents said they aren’t sure where they will go after the encampment is cleared out on Wednesday. Over 100 people were living at the camp when the Mayor’s Office announced the closure last mon...

We have higher rates of kidney and bladder problems compared to the general population, and historically rather than address this, medicine has chosen to either ignore it or blame our healthcare. Nope, turns out marginalization just destroys bodies. Quelle surprise.

@mayorher.bsky.social is a coward, ruining people’s lives today just to save face (PS it won’t work, you’re getting recalled, asshole).
he won by the same margin as Trump, which represented "a huge mandate" back then.
Progressives didn’t get the big election night they wanted
I watched cable news... I thought that less than 2% wins = complete mandate... We were told that this constituted a vibe shift and that the left should get with the fascist program.... What's changed? [OK offline again, lol]
This is why you should hire a friendly transexual with some of a degree in mass communications to help you
The thing about using slop flyers for advertising is that there’s no way to visually differentiate between a lemonade stand, a BBQ joint, a car wash, and a laundromat. They all look exactly the same and from a branding perspective that’s bad, actually
Bumping this again because Diana is being charged and could end up in jail over this bullshit

Once again on my Cathy grind (Trying to find some chocolate to eat in my own home in a very aggressive manner)
We are not going to help those people heal by trying to focus all that pain on one person. We are going to help people who lost their homes heal by showing up. We are not going to prevent fire by focusing on arson, fire is here and we need to work on deciding when and how things burn, not if
to add: The west is going to burn, fire has been here longer than the USA has, many Indigenous land management practices work alongside fire. Rather than focusing on who started a fire, we need to work out how to live with fire and how the city became a tinderbox and how to help people right now.
Just wanna caution everyone posting about the Spokane fires that an arrest is not a conviction and if we look at LA they haven’t been able to convict that guy.
More cops have been arrested for using flock cameras to stalk women than there are transgender athletes in youth sports.
