Trying to score compassion and competency points by monitoring encampments sweeps from a fancy city hall command center like she's in the White House situation room is pretty gross!

Voting is not going to change police culture or make police officers start valuing life, and 'more training' won't do this either. Protests and civil disobedience on the other hand keeps the police murder of Corey Ruiz on the agenda and can force stakeholders to the table.

But what a representative example of the liberal Madison response to the protest encampment. It's not the police murder of Corey Ruiz that they are angry about, it's their inability to get to Willy Street Co-Op and the prospect that their voting bloc might lose that truly enrages them.

Camp defenders just kicked out some city employees who tried to enter. The employees came in and didn’t say who they were or why they’re here. There is some confusion about who is who with the city because all of them are wearing the same safety vests without identifiers.

I’m being told by a camp defender that some St. Paul cops tried to stop people distributing food here yesterday until St. Paul council member Hwajeong Kim stepped in.

About an hour ago, St. Paul police tried to come in through this entrance on the camp’s flank, which is barricaded. Rep. Finke was able to deescalate the situation, getting city workers to agree not to move in. There’s about four cop cars just chilling here now. Second picture is the barrier.

This is one of the tables set up here that’s giving out water, food, bags and other items to camp residents. I’ve volunteered at one of the donation tables here a few times. Hit me up if you want to be connected to someone that can get you plugged into helping out at these encampments.

So we’re about an hour into the official city sweep of the Pig’s Eye/Fish Hatchery encampment. A couple of entrances are barricaded with mostly wood pallets, which has prevented city workers from moving in machinery to clear the camp. This has allowed camp residents to move themselves out.

Ask your St. Paul government friends if Her’s treatment of colleagues and underlings goes beyond SPPD.

There's something diminishing about living in a world where men's abuse is so ubiquitous and unimpeded, and still women are chided for not thinking enough of men's woes, men's harms, men's feelings. We're constantly asked why we don't tolerate our endless violation with more dignity.
