I feel so inspired by Gen Con that I've set up a secret project page on my itch for a game I've been tinkering with in my notes app for a couple of months. I am so pumped to explore it further.

Thinking more on this. GenCon helped me feel connected to community again, in ways that being online simply can't. Even if I see them only 1-2 times a year, that time with RPG friends is more valuable than a year of bluesky posts from them.

This has been a good GenCon. I'll do a full write up on thoughts later this week. Normally I come out of these cons with major design energy. That's not the case this time. But I do feel more connected. I got to see friends, give hugs, drink coffee, just hang. And that's way more valuable.

I got spoiled by the Nespresso machines at the JW Marriott at Gen Con this year. Having an espresso (or two) every morning and before late night games really was a game changer and helped me rally. I think I know what I want my Christmas gift to be this year from Santa.

Updated my running tally of TTRPGs that I've played, ran, or both. I know some games have slipped through the cracks of time and memory, but it's nice to at least be in the ballpark. I've played/ran exactly 50 unique games. In 2026, I've played/ran 13 unique games.
