Ours are attached to a motorised chain that runs the length of the room. This means sometimes they like to move by themselves just a little, enough to keep you on edge.
I love this new guide to church crawling from @g0blinegg.bsky.social especially the reminder to look at the outside too. Some gravestones are a bit formulaic, but others can tell you so much about lives that never made it into the history books

Funny how fewer academic and support staff never seems to result in fewer senior management posts being needed to oversee a depleted workforce. I’m sure creating some kind of causal link, like oh decimation (posts, not lives - for clarification!), would curb their enthusiasm

The bowl was found abandoned in a farmyard in the mid 19thC, the base was found nearby and the two were subsequently reunited in the church. Such an important piece of art. #FontsOnFriday

A dog saved Houssein Hamze from a bomb. When war returned, he stayed to care for Lebanon’s animals
In normal times the Mashala shelter founder takes in strays, but in wartime, he is the only lifeline for animals in the area

Part of the wealthiest grave assemblage of a woman in Iron Age Europe. It dates to 500 BC. This is the Celts. It specifically references Greek and Celtic motifs. It is an incredibly important item, and it has to be found.
