“Culture of impunity” is right. The demand is to never hold public figures accountable for wrongdoing, not even verbally when they’re already beyond the reach of human accountability and won’t hear the criticisms and jokes. The legacy must be sanitized, or current elites might feel less impunity.

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

[MONKEY'S PAW FAKEMON] My first attempt at a regional variant :D An old myth claimed that Aipom's tail could grant the wishes of one cunning enough to steal it. Unfortunately, the tale lead to this species being overhunted. Aidolon is a big, angry sasquatch with no arms. #art #fakemon #pokemon

Having social media access made growing up gay 1 million times easier (I don’t think I would even know I was gay as a teen if it weren’t for social media), but it also made growing up progressive and informed possible. Social media was where I learned about abortion rights, for starters

Generative AI is not only fundamentally based on the rejection of consent, but also *standards*. Artists have been micromanaged and hounded over individual pixels, academics fighting to defend every minute detail of their thesis, etc, and then are tossed away in favor of the get shit wrong machine.
