Announcing such a major change to NSF GRFP this late in the cycle is incredibly cruel. 2nd yr students (mine included) have been working so hard on their proposals despite ongoing uncertainty. They are driven and passionate about being outstanding scientists and helping those coming up behind them.

Wow… the explicit exclusion of clinical psych after people have already been working so hard on their applicants is awful. Anyone in/applying to clinical psych programs still planning to apply this year?

PSA to deactivate your X account if you haven’t already!! Any advice on how to deal with this ridiculousness from X? My account got hacked 2 months ago and I’ve tried multiple routes to regain access and deactivate it.

An important point getting overlooked: When NIH cancels "diversity" grants (e.g., diversity supplements, Fs, Ks, etc), they aren't canceling the grants based on *what* the grant studies. They're cancelling them based on *who* is doing the research. And that disallowed "who" is anyone not white.

BREAKING: We're suing the National Institutes of Health over their politically-motivated purge of research grants. This is an unlawful attack on scientific progress that puts lives at risk.
