This is a perfectly fine thing to say. You’re not going to convince me that providing an off-ramp for “MAHA” is bad. She didn’t come out as anti-vax, she said people are mistrustful of food and drug industries. If we don’t speak to this, the right is free to contextualize the issue unopposed.

There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.

I generally think it would be better if people with disagreements on here had good faith interactions without assuming malicious intent on the others side BUT I did just see a prominent ragebaiter get mauled in their own comments and it was kinda funny

This discussion feels like it sorta misses the point. Lots of valid questions about this: Are we measuring the right things, what cues are the population responding to, etc. But “they’re wrong to believe the economy is in decline” seems like a conclusion you can’t draw without answering those first

Nobody is going to poor people and saying "You aren't poor." They are poor. We know they are poor. We don't like that they are poor. But for years the bulk of the American population has erroneously believed the economy is declining, in ways that it empirically has not been. That's a big mystery.

Heartened to see DSA’s experiencing tremendous success, but I think this breakthrough will mark a transition where the Democratic Party might begin to treat them less like an obnoxious fringe and more like a real threat. That’s a necessary battle, but it’s gonna be nasty.

It’s darkly funny seeing this exact script be passed around between progressives and moderates every election depending on who wins the primary. Trading vote blue no matter who for fuck your shitty candidate back and forth for all eternity.

Destroy and smear him? If so called progressives didn’t understand there was a general election they’d have to win beyond the primary, that’s on them. We tried to tell ya’ll.

If horror has a hero, it’s Bruce Campbell. Today we celebrate the birth of an enduring actor, producer, and legend. Happy birthday, sir, and thanks for changing the face (especially the chin) of the genre. We love you!

the faux-feminism of harassing a random dude for writing for a specific niche audience and calling it misogynistic out of context - then when the guy apologizes because he's normal and doesn't want to upset people you declare it a great victory because you participated in a pointless social murder.

UPDATE: The journalist explained and apologized, and I’m genuinely impressed. Here are his three Threads posts and my reply to them.

I truly don’t understand the normielib fixation with disputing the reality of the affordability crisis. Is it just the vacuous reasoning of the middle class who can’t empathize? Excessive negative polarization from center Dems promising tax cuts as their remedy?
