Many of the provisions from the Big Ugly Bill will go into effect, harming hundreds of thousands of Michiganders in order to create tax cuts for the richest people in America.

It has been eight days since Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez was shot by ICE while making a DoorDash delivery in Austin, Texas. He is currently facing a severe medical emergency. The bullet remains lodged in his back, and he is being held at the South Texas ICE Processing Center in Pearsall.
Wilber’s habeas case is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, but his health cannot wait. The danger is systemic. Medically vulnerable individuals face extreme risk in these facilities; at least 57 people have died in MAGA concentration camps since January 20, 2025.
