I've just completed some more additions to my #RISC_OS build of #OvationPro. A host of new features for Picture Frames. New alignments instead of just 'Centre', Fit to Width/Height of a frame. And also fit the frame to the picture. That's now 31 new build features and 70 new script functions.

Absolutely. My favorite was "EasiWriter" for the Acorn Archimedes and RiscPC. Tree-structured text with styles that could be applied to sub-tree bodies *or headings* and excellent layout facilities applied consistently as you went along. Text then style. Came from the same stable as MacAuthor.

My favorite word processing package of all time was EasiWriter and ran on the Acorn Archimedes and RiscPC machines. It was essentially a re-write of MacAuthor by the original developer.

This morning I had two Archimedes A3010s, one known working and one unknown. Had a couple of hours so finally got around to battery removal and any necessary cleanup. The working machine had some leakage damage, the other was clean and has an IDE drive. I now have two non-working A3010s. Typical.

Despite having Custom Icons in RISC OS for six years, I’ve only just noticed that as well as delegating rendering of billions of “R𝘯” indirected icons, it also allows unindirected icons (or those without “R” validation) to be themed! I only realised because I went to add it but it’s already there.

Plain old Arthur-style unindirected icon, being rendered by a Custom Icon module with an inset dotted line.

Ever wanted to play Commodore 64 SID tunes on a BBC Micro without needing additional hardware? Having seen similar attempts on the VIC-20, Atari 800 and ZX Spectrum I thought I'd give it a go. Early days, unstable, and sound fidelity needs to be improved, but it works! (sort of...). SoftSID v0.01 🔊

We have had a record breaking (for ROUGOL!) unbroken run of 18 months of meetings, with 18 different speakers, 10 of which were new to ROUGOL. Of those, seven of the presentations were given in person in the pub, while the online ones spanned the globe from the USA to Australia via Scotland!

No speaker at tonight's ROUGOL meeting, so we will be having general RISC OS chat over a nice cold drink 🙂 rougol.jellybaby.net/meetings/ind...
