Just realized I never shared this here TMNT art in the style of old Bengus art (circa MvC1.) Made the Turtles, and was initially just going to add April O'Neil, ended up adding Splinter, Bebop and Rocksteady as well. I made these during a number of livestreams. Could be fun to add more.

Square layout of the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, along with April O'Neal, Bebop, Rocksteady and Master splinter in the style of old Marvel Vs Capcom 1 portraits. The colors are very intense.

The new He-Man film was pretty fun - shame Leto is in it, that wasn't a fun surprise. (I did really like the way the film handled the names of the characters, "Ram Man" etc, etc).

Way back in January, I finally reviewed something that I'd been meaning to write about for maybe 20 years! It was fun, and I was definitely over the top with my rating - but ratings don't mean much, and I rhapsodised about the film in general anyway, lol: thereviewheap.home.blog/2026/01/09/g...

Ghost in the Shell (1995)

After a lot of pointless back-and-forth with myself about making this review better than my usual ones, I’ve given up on placing that pressure on my own shoulders. However, in the spirit of at leas…

here's a fun lil exercise for cis people: how many articles would a publication have to print calling for your extermination before you would expect people who care about you to stop giving them money? and how would you feel if their excuse for still supporting them is some fuckass crossword puzzle?

G'day all, it's Aussie Author August... and I have a sweet swag of Australian dystopian horror and post-apocalyptic fantasy. Plenty of bogans, roos, and curse words. Grab one now, chuck a sickie, and live ya best life!

My instinct is "no" - but is there any etiquette around updating author photos? I mean, maybe it'd matter more if I were hand-selling my books more often? My hair is fairly different now, and I thought that I ought to update my author photo due to that... but I don't know if I can be bothered, lol

Doing my best to actually take a break now that I'm in-between books - tinkering with an old review site, which has been fun. (Commissioning a few icons for use in the reviews, tidying up some language in the reviews, tweaking the banner, stuff that feels low-key but it still fun)

Over the years, I've discovered that I don't know how best to sell this book. Either I haven't found the right tagline, comparison, or I opened with the wrong chapter - or maybe folks are just waiting for the trilogy to be complete for giving it a go. Good news is that Book 3 is getting closer!
