OpenComputers 1.8.10 is out! Available on Modrinth now, on CurseForge in the near future. This is the final official release of OpenComputers for Minecraft 1.7.10 and 1.12.2. Thank you for the 12+ years of... um... computers which are open. modrinth.com/mod/opencomp...

Needed a mostly working Wonderswan / SwanCrystal to be able finalise the reverse pcb Ive been worling on. This one came up, listed as defective. Thanks to @asie.pl amazing knowledge there was a good chance it was just corrupt EEPROM data making the screen misbehave.

I want to talk about a big change in this project that may disappoint some people. As some of my friends know, I started planning GB Bridge many years ago because, at the time, it seemed like the only feasible way to "port" GB games to the GBA. (1/5)

Talk about LLM decomps in retro gaming reminds me of viznut's prediction: > Once all "content" is as cheap as tap water, the present hiearchies [...] of "content production" will have been demolished. What remains valuable will be the kind of culture that cannot be reduced to consumable "content".

Machine learning is neither good or evil | viznut

I've been wanting to write this for a long time. Even before large generative machine-learning models became a valid subject of conversation among non-technical people.

Awkward moment in which, on /r/WonderSwan, someone made an LLM-assisted fan translation of the visual novel "With you", but refuses to release it in hopes of finding a human translator to write a proper script translation.

I don't think it makes sense to mark your game as AI code assisted if you use an engine that has LLM contributions, unless the point of the engine is something related to LLM generated code.

26 hours until my one hour offline panel on Minecraft modding history - while I scramble to finish it, is there anything you think I should cover or touch on in particular?

I have to pick one to implement, replacing a custom solution: RTP MIDI vs Network MIDI 2.0. Any thoughts - from either users or developers?

The single biggest story in video games this month, prompting widespread concern across the community, and the ESA has no comment. Thank you @duckvalentine.bsky.social for holding them accountable for their total failure on this issue

Sony is putting an end to physical PlayStation games, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the ESA doesn't really have anything to say about it. https://kotaku.com/video-game-industry-esa-digital-ownership-2000712263
