a fun thing to do when you're talking to a recruiter about a devrel role is ask about the reporting chain. in my experience it's almost always considered a marketing function that reports up to the CMO. my former employer is the one exception dev marketing is important but it's not what I do

Somewhat surprising (not sure that’s the right word) how many booths at conferences are suddenly claiming their products help fix AI/agentic coding issues. It’s almost like AI written code isn’t production level and can’t be trusted.

AI generated conference talks are slop garbage. Not to mention lazy.

Effective immediately, I am resigning as Chair of the DevRel Foundation. This was not an easy decision, but it has become clear that I am no longer aligned with the direction, culture, or spirit in which the group is currently being run.

Heard a story of a founder looking to add client logos to the docs...my first thought:

Yep. Everything is completely broken. Resumes don’t tell the story. Job postings are copy and paste, reviewing does not scale, and interviewing is filled with bias.

Update on the job search front, things are not well on the tech hiring front. Here's some stats from my experience: - Over 100 applications and resumes/CVs submitted - 33% of companies auto-reject with no explanation

Always research your candidates! In prep for early voting, I learned that the candidate I thought I’d vote for was a do-nothing who paid for his current position and is just another rich white dude parading around as “one of the people”. Sorry @markpoloncarz.bsky.social, you backed the wrong horse
