But... when you try to use some of these big company leverage tricks to drive down piracy suddenly you start to look not so different to some people, and that is the core of what hit the Druffle team. It's important to remember that these anti consumerist steps hurt everyone. Nobody liked it.

When you pirate from a massive company they feel nothing, they assume that this sort of thing happens and the cost is built in to those that DO pay. But for a small creator the math hurts a lot more. So I do beg people who pirate models to consider buying them properly if they like them.

As the 48 hour Druffle gate news cycle comes to an end (in the best way it could, good on them for that) I feel like it's worth highlighting something that most creators uncomfortably understand and just deal with. It is _impossible_ to prevent having your avatar shared after it is bought. 🧵

Thoughts on the Druffle avatar, apparently the DRM thing is real despite claims it wasn't, but on top of that, I talked directly with one of the people involved in creating the avatar and they had no idea the DRM was a part of it until the day of release. Not a good look.

So I worked on my Druffle edit for almost 16 hours by now and I'm just NOW learning about the security issues and vibe codes? Like come the fuck onnnnnnnnnnnnuhhhh 😭

if this isnt a red flag idk what is. also in your case, try deleting the unity install (not the projects) and reinstalling it. worst case the projects if you kept them separate should be unharmed save for the one you put the druffle into. its why unity keeps project files isolated from each other.

unity shit itself when i imported the new druffle and nothing fixed it it corrupted my project, unity, AND vcc, so all my shit is just gone

Check out these Tos too. This DRM is hella sketch and I will not support the Druffle or make assets for it until this is removed and we can purchase the avatar in a traditional way.
