2. This doesn't absolve responsibility for Brexit. Everything is still there, including those prédispositions mentioned above. Frankly, if Brexit hadn't been such a disaster, would Russian interference even have been brought up? It is very much still up to the voters to fix what they've caused.

À Belgian was the first to introduce chips into UK. Sold with a pea option, not with fish. My parents would bring fish and chips back to the house in the sixties: all soggy as the seller didn’t tear a hole à la Belge to allow condensation to escape.

A dramatic spike in small boats daily arrivals on Wednesday: 781 people on 10 boats. This means the year-on-year drop is now 42% rather than 44% The BBC reporting is now putting context *much* higher But shows the challenge that visible optics remain more reportable than invisible trends.

Cameron's whole plan for the 'Remain' campaign was to first demand the EU gives the UK an (even more) special place and reforms according to the UK's will in his 'renegotiation'. Very eerily close to what Blair is proposing here.

‘The risk is the emergence of a migration ‘doom loop', in which political pressure to reduce migration leads to policy choices that weaken economic performance and public services, thereby intensifying the very political discontent that fuels anti-immigration sentiment.’
