This is exactly how I feel about using AI to write code. That's the part of my job that I actually enjoy. It's why I got into this profession in the first place. Unfortunately, it seems I'm very much in the minority with that sentiment among my colleagues.

Why not it's so fun" and I'm there like why would I want someoen else to do the thing I love for me? Its the same as when I say I don't want players to design my world thr making is what I love!
If anyone is getting smacked with this - just use deer.social or another alternate client. Bsky is just an AT Protocol Client, and your Bsky account is an AT Protocol account - you can use your same Bsky account thru another AT Protocol Client, no migration or loss necessary. Could not be easier.

a positive of decentralized platforms is that you can just use another client to access the same content. imagine you wanna go to a bar that all your friends are at, bsky is just the car that gets you there. if the car gives you issues, the bar isn't gone. just use another car same login deer.social

Debugging code is a puzzle. Using AI is a shortcut. If you had someone over your shoulder solving every stage of a puzzle for you, it may get done faster. But would you still feel the same satisfaction afterwards? I enjoy puzzles for the process, not just for the completion.
Today a jr engineer used AI to update an old, complex section of code. He couldn't even explain his solution. He said it was "not worth his time" to understand the code. I was so incensed. It's not worth your time to learn and become a better engineer?? What are we even doing here...
