I see a very interesting tidbit here: software is most often a (part of) means to reach a goal, so sharing is helping each other reach the goal. Text is a product by itself, so anyone taking it is considered a “thief“. Imagine, if we were to figure a way to focus on the actual impact the text has.
exactly we've also been plagiarizing each other for decades because open source made code free and the benefits are gigantic bsky.app/profile/lora...

Security pro tip: an AI agent which has a root access on the machine at the start can’t hack it! Check-mate!
Next time someone tells me not to anthropomorphize Claude they are getting this in reply.
Had to replace a washing machine today, so dealt with some embedded rust.
The bit no one wants to say is that the average person has bad taste when it comes to writing. By definition, lowest common denominator is what is most popular, and that is what AI produces www.newscientist.com/article/2583...

People appear to prefer short stories created by AI over those written by humans. They are also no better than chance at telling which is which

I hopped on to chat with Ed and give myself brain damage listening to Everyone's Least Optimal Nutcase. We just talked about this, which is the most fictional guide I've seen in a long time *SPACEX SEES $100 BILLION ARR BY YEAR-END: CFO
Come to think of it, with a gang of Mythos and Sol-5.6 on the loose, we are tremendously lucky to not have ended up with the doomsday scenarios of entire set of Erdos problems solved overnight.

Not to dunk on this but it isn't really true that the Hormuz oil crisis is driving a solar boom. Here's this chart updated to June of China solar exports, showing that the March spike in exports has subsided and was therefore mostly just export tax rebate effects.
Absolutely unbelievable how solar power has taken off worldwide during the Hormuz oil crisis. You don't have to hand it to him, but Trump may have done more to finally kick off a global civilization of effete librul solar users than anyone else in the West
Sceptre: EasyOCR reimplemented in Rust. EasyOCR is accurate but Python-only (a PyTorch stack). Sceptre matches its output using the same OCR approach (CRAFT detection, gen2 CRNN, CTC over ONNX) and ships as one static binary with no Python.
