Reason #58964 why drivers need to be banned from the park. Each one should be issued with a penalty ticket and a further fine for risking a wildfire by parking their hot car engines over tinderbox dry grass in a special conservation area. #RichmondPark

The council are re-surfacing the road so we get a brief glimpse into how awful this road looks when we don’t have dozens of citizens storing private property on it all the time. Thank god public space is able to be used, for free, by privileged car owners.

Crazy that a major event in the Borough (an annual event so hardly a surprise!) would have zero bits of information about the event beyond a generic blurb. And then they'll complain about low attendance numbers and reduced funding.

Maybe I should be grateful that at least this idiot didn’t block the bike lane? Either way, the parking gods did not favour the driver today.

Shabana Mahmoud’s last action as Home Secretary should be to revoke (and put on a 10year visa ban) on all Argentina players who play in the UK. Labour 99 (+70).

My 7yr old has a love of pirates. He’s got every single modern children’s book about pirates. He’s now working his way through every pre-modern pirate book for children. Earlier today I heard him earnestly shout at his sister “confound you, you lily-livered blackguard!” Never been so proud.

Can’t believe the excitement in Central London right now for an 8pm kick off. Everyone’s talking about the game. I can hear people saying the names of players. Fans are wearing their kit. The beers are flowing. Can even hear some chanting off in the distance. All this for Egnatia v Petroclub!!

Hard to see in the first photo but the black car driver has stopped in the middle of the road to take pictures of the deer under the tree. Sadly, by the time I got close enough to catch it on camera the driver had started to put the phone back in the holder.

Car brains will look at this image & tell you that the problem is those 2 hire bikes on the pavement. What do you mean you can’t see them? Next to the HGV that’s parked on the pavement. No! Not that HGV on the pavement. The other HGV that’s on the pavement. Yes!! Those hire bikes are the problem.

Just a reminder: if I'm killed by a driver while I'm walking or biking, the local safe street advocates have my permission to use my death as a bludgeon against electeds who have made insufficient progress on safer streets

Statement from @bikeboston.bsky.social, @streetsboston.bsky.social, and @walkmass.bsky.social about Louisa Gag, who was hit and killed by a driver today. Yet another life taken because our society and leaders refuse to address the destruction wrought by cars.

We are devastated by the loss of Boston resident and transportation planner, Louisa Gag. On Thursday morning, a driver struck and killed Louisa on her bicycle commute to city hall along Tremont Street near Roxbury Crossing.
Louisa Gag is not just a number on a spreadsheet; she was a champion for safer streets, a vibrant part of the planning and advocacy community, and a person dedicated to fixing the very system that failed her.

And our local councillor is still mystified why “no one uses” the bike lane? Obviously, I was only using the bike lane to take a picture of the driver blocking it so that doesn’t count.

I’ve developed a new Rorschach test. Simply show this image anyone and ask them which vehicle is geo-restricted, speed restricted and the subject of a nationwide campaign to ban them from our public spaces. See how many identify the huge heavy van as the cause of broken pavements.

I should add that I was VERY conflicted about this. I really want these dangerous vehicles off the road so was reluctant to help the motorbiker. But that driver was driving recklessly and could easily take me out next time so he needs to learn a lesson here. Not exactly Sophie’s choice though.

Just witnessed a driver crash into a guy on illegal e-motorbike. Driver totally at fault. I had a quiet word with the motorbike guy and suggested he try and get the driver to admit fault and pay a small sum to fix the bike rather than go through insurance as they won’t pay for an illegal bike.

Selfish drivers can and do cause life critical delays to emergency service responders, every second counts. You may think you’re special, but if you spare little to zero thought for others, you inevitably put people in danger as a direct result of your own actions. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "We've built them their own dedicated lanes, but what a waste!" (10 secs TfL's traffic cam video of Victoria Embankment at 1815 today - rush hour. Lots of folk using cycleway #C3 #CS3 on the right by the River Thames. There are four lanes for motorised traffic, completely empty)
