The Kings Speech shows why Starmer must go. What a wasted opportunity! Where’s the urgent transformative programme to redistribute wealth, tackle the nature & climate crisis, bring water into public hands, & introduce rent controls & wealth taxes? No hope, no story, no vision

Our dependency on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable. Wars across the world are pushing up prices for households in the UK. Why keep waiting for the next crisis? We need to transition to clean power as fast as we can to protect people and our economy. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Reaching net zero by 2050 ‘cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’

What a bunch of assholes Waitrose are! Next time benefits are attacked, this is what the disabled face trying work! He may have volunteered but clearly liked the routine, he needs to be paid. Obvious exploitation & discrimination from a multi billion pound company! www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...

Autistic volunteer 'sacked' after family asked if he could be paid

Tom Boyd, who has autism, was a volunteer at a Waitrose in Cheadle Hulme for four years but when his mum Frances asked if he could have paid work he was told he could not continue

Seems especially true with invisible disabilities. I used to be really good at masking my autism and was described as ‘higher functioning’ when I was diagnosed as a child. Now I have less tolerance of sensory issues(since Covid) & even family take issue. But I always struggled, I just hid it before!

I think a lot of ignorance about disability comes because many simply cannot comprehend how many of us manage with the symptoms we have. They think we must be exaggerating. The truth is were nearly always doing the opposite. It's almost always worse than we say.

god this reminds me of the day Theresa May's conference speech went wrong in about nine different ways, and there were people saying things like, "I don't know how you can feel so little sympathy you want to make jokes!" and the answer was "REALLY EASILY SORRY, I THINK MOCKING POWER IS A MORAL DUTY"

Cue the screams of "It's Labours fault for not giving us more money" while sweeping under the rug that they helped remove local government money over the years when wearing dark blue.
