In any other country, for example, you criticize the equivalent of Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz for facilitating the slide to the far right. And that's without active participation in genocide! Yet on this issue, you only talk about "AIPAC/Bibi". Why is that?
This is the right thing to say and I wholeheartedly support it and believe it but it is frustrating and aggravating that he's been saying this for months and months and, like Mamdani, some people on here take this as a rhetorical pivot after the primary rather than just sincerity.

Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.

I vote for shitty moderate Democrats all the time in general elections. I do it because Republicans are demons from hell, not because I care about the opinions of people like this. But man is it annoying.

one of the main reasons I hate the whole focus on legalizing weed for medical purposes is bc it makes it sound like using it recreationally is somehow morally wrong, or that cannabis is always a medicine--it's fine to just get a little high, plants don't always have to be medicine to justify use

A lot of people on here remain bitter about the version of Uncommitted they made up in their heads while high profile members of the actual Uncommitted are becoming mayors, state senators, members of Congress and maybe even part of the US Senate. In some cases, with establishment support.

Just so everyone knows, this is a tried-and-true mainstream media tactic. For progressives/leftist candidates, every election is a “crucial test” and any loss would serve as proof to the media that the latest left-side moment is at its end. Any win, though, just means it’s time to find a new test.

I think on the whole it’s totally fine in principle to urge people to be cautious in how they talk about AIPAC et al but some people really do need to get it thru to themselves that it is actually exceptional for one organization to spend >30M on a single primary like it’s nothing.
People are very allergic to acknowledging actual distinctions of interest and belief; but if you support the policies Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett, or Yair Lapid you are opposed to what Mamdani and his supporters believe in. Which is fine, it's a free country, but there's no point lying about it.

There are a lot of people who were capable of being open-minded when Arabs and Muslims were simply the *subject* of US policy but whose response to those communities having an active role in American politics on par with other ethnic and faith groups has been to totally lose their shit.
