So the message of this research out of China, where you were seeing a lot of kids using A.I. to help them, was that when they were using the A.I., they were getting things done faster. But it turned out that the skills they were learning were not holding, that their actual personal performance, at least in the way we traditionally measure it, was degrading. What do you think when you hear that? The last part — I completely agree. Try to get a kid to do long division right now. The multiplication table is starting to be forgotten. Doing square roots, my goodness. Basic math is being forgotten. Does it matter? That’s my question for you. Yeah. I don’t think it does. I don’t think it does. But there must be some set of skills that matter. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. But maybe not those. We’re going to discover new ones. Just maybe not those. There are a lot of skills that don’t matter. My first confession, I actually don’t know my address.

Okay, to make it clear: I am very, VERY anti-AI. I want to see these corporations sued, CEOs in jail, and data centers either looted for semiconductors or burnt to the ground. But witch-hunts? Spreading word that someone somewhere might have said they don't hate it so they MUST use it? Fuck that.

Genuinely just had a musician I used to listen to make a remix of an AI song, find an AI picture to use as the visuals, and then get angry at ME for thinking it was AI? Yeah, AI has made people more paranoid. But if you purposely make something completely surrounded by AI, I'm gonna assume it's AI.

Wow it sucks I've mainly been posting life updates but trust it's important- I've been in such a bad artistic rut, mainly because of what I mentioned here. Again I refuse to go into details because I want to do better than my ex has but it's been gnawing at me. Thankfully I'm improving steadily :')

Not sure how much I am comfortable sharing other than I've been dealing with a very rough breakup after being dumped for the past 9 months or so, almost 10. Had to heavily reflect over the relationship and the mistakes I've made, so going off socials was highly needed.

This entire AI shebang really is putting me off from ever using Twitch for streaming again. They KNEW we didn't want this, pushed this update anyway, and don't bother marking users who use those features properly. It's so damn tiring.

The “better” generative AI gets, the clearer its shortcomings become. Every piece of AI “art” has the same gloss. Every AI flyer has the same aesthetic. They’re the homogenized average of all AI’s ripped and anyone can tell now - and avoid your business. “When everyone’s super, no one will be.”

Small update on this btw: old account got deleted since discord refuses to help me out in that scenario. So that sucks. I might have to rejoin some servers lol but I have had an alt made and reclaimed the username of the old account so thankfully not everything is bad in the world :O

For those who have me added on discord and wonder why I haven't been active - I got 2FA locked! All the backup codes I had saved on my phone were deleted entirely by an accidental system reset so I cannot log in, and discord support didn't help me whatsoever. I just hope it didn't get hacked lol

If anyone is getting smacked with this - just use deer.social or another alternate client. Bsky is just an AT Protocol Client, and your Bsky account is an AT Protocol account - you can use your same Bsky account thru another AT Protocol Client, no migration or loss necessary. Could not be easier.
