The team behind Fujo-Con is a small but passionate trio of long-time BL fans, artists, and experieced event hosts. We have been involved in the convention space for years (volunteering at various conventions, hosting cupsleeve events, and tabling at many different artist alleys) and have noticed the lack of spaces dedicated to Fujoshi/Fudanshis that many fans have been asking for. After many discussions, Fujo-Con was born!

We did not expect for Fujo-Con's social media posts to blow up in the way that they have. Our intention is for Fujo-Con to be a smaller scale local convention, but due to the tremendous support and excitement we've received online, we've realized that our vision for Fujo-Con might not match up with your perception and hopes for the event. Although we would love for Fujo-Con to eventually grow into a larger space, for this firs year that the convention will be held, we decided to rent out a smaller building at the Pasadena Convention Center (Conference Building) to ensure that we can manage everything within reason.

While we have hosted smaller scale events like cupsleeves before, this is our first time hosting a convention. With that being said, and as stated in our Artist Alley and Doujinshi Area applications, we unfortunately have very limited spots for artists. We received a massive amount of applications for our Artist Alley, and while we would love to expand our artist areas in the future, we sadly do not have the space to accommodate as many as we would like to for this first year. Additionally, we want to note that our convention's attendance will be capped to a couple thousand per day - as stated before, we are a small first year con, so please don't be too disappointed if you were not accepted this year! We had so many applications from talented artists who clearly showed a passion for BL, but we also want to clear up any misconceptions about the scale of our event.

The expenses for Fujo-Con's first year are coming out of our team's pockets, and any profits made will be directed back into running the convention. If Fujo-Con is successful and is able to continue, we would love to donate proceeds to LGBTQ+ organizations in future years! We truly appreciate the enthusiasm that everyone has shown for our upcoming convention!
