Had to have a talk with my 4yo, and I foolishly chose to explain certain recent events in terms of doggy heaven but did so without realizing that I had never properly introduced the notion of regular heaven. This resulted in many questions which I was ill-equipped to answer.
I have been hating this anime for decades. It has been a rough couple of decades for being a hater.
Hideaki Anno’s iconic anime masterpiece Neon Genesis Evangelion is officially coming to the Criterion Channel this September. https://bit.ly/3TuAlnB
My sober and levelheaded take is that it would be good for the profession if we who compose the profession stopped being habitually and publicly fascinated by the stupidest shit ever.
Don’t let decision theorists push you around. Oh my preferences are intransitive? Too bad nerds, I’m paying you to come up with a model where I’m rational, not to complain
Sternly, to my four year old: “This is a strong Kleene household. We’ve no room for weakness, Kleene or otherwise.”
At first I was worried that he was talking about Chomskian nativism, but he is talking about a different thing.

Fatal flaw in my argument? Beyond the scope of this paper. Crushing objection? Beyond the scope of this paper. Large swaths of the literature I haven’t read? Beyond the scope of this paper. Dialectical Gerrymandering stays winning.
Once again at O'hare, my favorite airport. The cannabis amnesty receptacles outnumber the lactation pods 2-1 by my count. People do not walk on the right side of the walkways and instead crash into each other likes waves of death at a Cannibal Corpse concert. They never put their phones down.
