"Mind Maping Mystic Memories" by Natalie T. 2025 watercolor on 9 x 12 tea stained watercolor paper. What do you see? Do more character, scenes, and stories stand out in one view vs. another?

(super WIP) Every time I illustrate Black characters it's like a time bomb before I remember The Discourse around how supposedly hard Black skin and hair are to draw It's really not?? I have a pastel style inspired by art nouveau and anime – I make it work just by (checks notes) "giving a shit"

Pixel art dialogue portrait of Kiluwa, a scholar of Jeddah. They have black skin and hair which are braided with gold. They wear a scholar's robe and carry a gilded tome. The screenshot includes the Aseprite UI to help indicate this is an early work in progress.

It's good to know that even after 20 years of making pixel art, I can still sometimes make myself go "WOW! Naomi!! That sprite is... pretty crap, actually! Are you sure you've done this before??"

One of the first few pieces on my journey embracing the abstract through my subconscious and spiritual exploration. "Abstract Stream of Subconscious Introspection # 4" by Natalie T. Glass dipped pen ink on 8.5in x 5.5in MM paper, 2021 I am abstract, and so are you! What do you see? #IamAbstract

"Abstract Stream of Subconscious Introspection # 4" by Natalie T. Glass dipped pen ink on mixed media paper, 8.5in x 5.5in, 2021
The artwork is an abstract created with vivid orange ink on a white background. There are smudges of less opaque orange ink that overlay the curvilinear lines created by the glass ink pen. The lines vary in width and movement. There are some that view the painting and see an outline of a profile of a face with a squiggly brain. Some may look and see a lion or a boar. The lines move and create different shapes that allow the viewer to interpret it different ways depending on their personal processing.
