When you hear the term “we’ve got a reader” on coverage, what is "reader" referring to: - A underplayed or complex card - The person actively reading the card Genuinely curious so please weigh in.

In a car to my hotel for SDCC and the radio is playing Holding Back the Years by Simply Red that could just as easily have been on the radio forty years ago at a particularly emotionally fraught early SDCC for me. It all feels very movie flashback-coded right now.

Not excited to be up and flying this early — I can hear Sheldon telling me I did this to myself and he would not be wrong — but realized that somehow in all my years of SDCC this will be the first time I am taking part in a panel at the show.

Writing card art briefs for a post-apocalyptic game world, watching X-Men ‘97, and drinking a Green Chartreuse martini. Grown-upping is weird. Polaris — Monkey 47 gin, dry vermouth, Green Chartreuse and a little preserved lemon brine syrup. “To me, my #dogsearmenu !”

Who will I see at SDCC this weekend? Unless on a panel I will be around the MARRIOTT MARQUIS SAN DIEGO MARINA; Ballrooms 18 & 20 all weekend while folks demo @cataclysmarcade.bsky.social in the tabletop area of the convention. If you are attending the con please come by and say hello.

Had an amazing time at Magic Con Amsterdam but did a godawful job of taking pictures with folks. Commander & Cocktails and The Menu continue to be very popular events and I get to meet and interact with so many people. I feel very fortunate and grateful to be part of this community every day.

Leaving Amsterdam is like leaving a dinner party, where the host keeps trying to get you to take home leftovers, but with Gouda cheese.

Mass public transportation is kind of a miracle. It is a shame that only a small handful of places in this country have anything remotely useable.

There is no scenario that doesn't end with these agents being thrown in prison that is acceptable. This is criminal behavior and needs to be treated as such. If you can watch this and not be outraged then you have failed at being a human being. This is fucking disgusting.

Was at a games event last night and was talking with someone, from a religious household, who actually played Redemption TCG for years growing up. Reminded me of the existence of this masterpiece from the early days of Magic writing. classicdojo.org/b983/hum.980...
