one of my X-Files posts is getting re-posted again, which just reinforces my belief that you could post literally anything about Brad Dourif on here and go semi-viral.

Sacramento, CA via TX and NC. UAW 4811. No one gets there alone.
I know a lot of the bands from the era were explicitly apolitical, but has there every been a book or PhD dissertation or whatever about how The Troubles produced some of the greatest English language pop music ever.
I hovered over a Sophie Cunningham-related post on Instagram for probably half a second two weeks ago, and now 90% of my suggested posts are about her. (I barely even follow sports on there, mostly just people I actually know in person.)
Rocket to Russia on the turntable now. There are very few things I was right about when I was 13, but the Ramones really were That Good.
saw some Ramones posting today and also had a lot of apartment cleaning to do, which reminded me that the Ramones are far and away the GOAT cleaning/chores band.
Felt an enormous amount of Sacramento pride welling up when I saw that my barber's new location has a signed photo of Tyreke Evans.

You have a month to write a 33 1/3 book about the album of your choice. Which record are you going to write about? (No previously covered albums allowed; new shit must come to light: see below.) (For all books in the series: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/33_1/3) (H/t @monostich.bsky.social

needle gesticulating wildly in the "Nolan fanboys" section of my "who is annoying me more, Nolan fanboys or Nolan haters" meter
ok great flick but really Zouks should've been in it for like 11 seconds as a pervy suitor who gets his shit rocked by Odysseus
About to go see the Odyssey, ready to get mad about what I'm assuming everyone else is mad about (Jason Mantzoukas isn't in the movie)

Anyway, the university administration is now appealing to Donald Trump's anti-labor federal labor board to overturn a legitimate democratic election. You should care about this!
I tried to show my six year-old niece the Jackass "High Five" bit, and she didn't think it was funny. This is the worst thing that's ever happened to me.

Going on a decade or so of thinking to myself during every summer league game: [Calvin Johnson voice] we'll come back for NBA summer/and go our separate ways
The epilogue to The Making of the Atomic Bomb feels like a spiritual companion to "Children of the Grave" (complimentary).
sitting down to make an American Indie Rock songs list like everyone else, immediately getting bored and just listing Underdogs of Nipomo 15 times
England played Oasis when they won, so I hope Belgium plays like Hubble Bubble.
I don't blame players for flopping. I would also like to lie down on the pitch on a warm summer afternoon.

Scott Atlas worked in my field. His most notable study is an fMRI experiment looking at the neural correlates of erections that was so poorly designed I used to teach it in my class on the dangers of sloppy design. His opinions are about as worthless as his science.

pretending the US goalkeeper is Josh Freese, not Matt. Just swatting away kicks while he plays "Live Fast, Diarrhea."
Niels Bohr at an anthropology conference in 1938, after the Anschluss but before Hitler took the Sudetenland.
in 1905 or w/e the ppl who talked exactly like this would've been saying it about stephen miller's belarusan jewish ancestors and sam alito's southern italian ancestors. sorry i can't shut up about this but it makes me so fuckin mad
Pace Stephen Miller. nothing about the extent of one's U.S. lineage makes one person born in U.S. inherently more "qualified to carry on or capable of executing the inheritance of this country" than another person born here. "Executing the inheritance" is a political not a genealogical matter.
