It's not a nurse shortage, it's a Private Equity problem. The more they buy up insurance and healthcare systems, the worse the conditions get. HealthCARE was never meant to be for profit; it was meant to CARE for people. Get Private Equity out of healthcare. Get $ our of politics.

hospitals want us to do more with less without a concern for patient safety or our own wellbeing while refusing to pay us adequate wages

If you've not seen it & you need to watch something that will make your head spin with absurdity and moments that make you cry laugh - Mrs. Davis on Peacock. My chosen brother told us we HAD to see it, and that was all he could tell us other than nobody ever takes him up on it. BET. #Bingeworthy

The same people who say history is just memorizing names and dates are the same people who think teaching the humanities in college is a waste of time. That narrow minded thinking is the result of the Republican assault on education over the past half century. They don't want you to go to college.

"History involves sorting and organizing hundreds of thousands of facts" I remain astounded by how loud and wrong people are about what history actually is.

I haven't heard people talking about this, but AI is an absolute game changer for doing historical research. History involves sorting and organizing hundreds of thousands of facts— a massive logistical/memory problem made so delightfully easy with agentic research. 1/

I did an OCR conversion of all my PDFs to make text files, built a semantic search index, and can just let my agents roam free to answer questions, fact-check, dig up interesting stories, quotes, etc. It takes a lot of the hard work out, as well as a lot of the human error. 2/2

New: We found 50 cops who misused Flock cameras and other license-plate readers for personal purposes, often to spy on their girlfriends or ex-wives. He "watched every single move I made. ... Who do you turn the chief of police in to?" wapo.st/3S6rTuo

She left her ex. He secretly tracked her through a network of policing cameras.

Flock’s array of license-plate cameras was built to fight crime. But at least 50 law enforcement officers were charged with or accused of misusing it and other systems.

Max Miller released audio recordings of conversations he has with his ex wife. In one of them, she accuses him of clandestinely recording their conversations. “I have never recorded our conversations” he says, while recording their conversation. This is domestic violence. Ask me how I know.

𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲🚨 This is what I want to see in America: Neighbors standing up for Neighbors! There are some people in this country that are brave and heroic, just like these awesome New Yorkers who put their bodies on the line to protect their community members. Would you?

The Odyssey cost $250 million to make. (likely the most expensive budget in Hollywood this year) Amazon got a tax break worth more than 30x that—paying $8 BILLION LESS than the year before. Then they fired 30,000 workers. Tax billionaires and their billionaire corporations.

Walking off the plane and there's a family waiting for their husband/dad and the teenage girl has a sign "Welcome home from prison, I'm your daughter!" 🤣 I want to be friends with them.
