I’ve seen posts complaining about how in Ride or Die, Hannah Waddingham’s face was altered a lot to make her look younger. People need to actually know what they’re talking about. It’s a flashback to 25 years ago. They made her look younger for the scene. Everything else, she has looked normal.
Speaking of songs and ear worms, it’d be great if commercials would stop using old pop songs. The ones where words are changed to integrate pharmaceuticals are especially painful for me to hear. They literally make my insides hurt. Can we go back to original jingle writers? Thanksomuch.
I laughed out loud more than once in the first several minutes alone of It’s a Superpower from @thedailytism.com. I can’t wait for the next episode and might honestly re-listen to the first later today.
The Federal Government shouldn't decide what your family can read. But that's what they're trying to do! EL made it easy to tell Congress to reject the Federal Book Ban Bills. Take action now! #library #libraries via @everylibrary.bsky.social #TLSky #EduSky #SchoolLibraries stopfederalbookbans.us
Stop the Federal Book Ban Bills!
We made it easy to take these four actions to fight against HR 7661 and S 4925. Stand up for your right to read!

Watching the newest season of Trying and the writing is so snappy and good. “I’m a woman. I’m an expert in relaxing whilst remaining on high alert to danger.” It’s just perfect.
We all know there’s going to be a day when some kid says, “I was named after a what?” And so, young Jimothy will learn the origin of his namesake.
I’m having some thoughts…
AI companies are buying, scanning, and destroying older books to improve their models' training data & avoid problems of "model collapse" (wherein LLMs choke on their own slop). One of their suppliers is Better World Books, which partners with public libraries. www.404media.co/ai-companies...
I just saw a meme that said “get in losers, we’re reclaiming the emdash”. People. PEOPLE. Where are your STANDARDS? It CLEARLY should be “get in, losers — we’re reclaiming the em dash.”
So many holes to poke
How about a jet-lagged live posting while I read? Trying to read this because I keep getting tagged in posts about it, but the first paragraph already contains synthetic text (a quote from Claude). I will skip that bit and persevere... www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
Teen has been washing their own sport uniform this past year asked for help with a different type of laundry. I put the detergent in and he asked “Are you supposed to add that every time?” Me: Have you not been using detergent every time?? Him: I thought it was in there and it just dispensed it. 🤦♀️
This is a SUPER-IMPORTANT #TechLiteracy lesson for your students - and your staff!! We've often said nothing goes away on the Internet - and now any anonymity you thought you had is also compromised. Particularly important for students who love to troll. /end #TLSky #EduSky #SchoolLibrarians
Some years ago, I realized that what students/people need in order to be life-long learners in the Internet age wasn’t all that complicated or new. They need to be able to ask good questions, stay curious, and be unafraid to challenge their own thoughts. Now with generative AI… nothing’s changed.
You can tell my ADHD meds haven’t kicked in yet because I went in to my browser to search something, made a typo which made me think of something amusing, spent 3 minutes following that amusing thought process, drafted a post about it, reconsidered, deleted it and then started a game on my phone.
It’s been a while since I watched actual TV and did you know that CNBC is airing a live fine art auction? I don’t know why this is so bizarre to me, but I am cracking myself up and my husband thinks I’ve lost my mind.
I already have too many voices talking to me, I don’t need another one, thanks.
Gmail is going to start talking to you
I did actually want to watch some soccer tonight. Anyone know of a good game on?
I got to have some critical conversations about school librarianship today! EVERY learner in EVERY public school DESERVES a licensed school librarian!
If you’re watching the game and hearing Thorfinn narrate everything the Norwegians do (particularly Haaland), you’re my people.
Me (not a big sports person): starts narrating the history of the players and refs, knows which teams are more handsy than others, who upset who and believes that these pitches have seen more dramatic falls than a room full of soap opera actors.
Sorry, I’m late to all the Cabo Verde love. I had to keep pausing the game for popcorn and then to watch the lightening and rain. But, yes, they were amazing.
Lots of folks replying to this here (and elsewhere) objecting to "undesirable output" as a replacement for "hallucination". Most of the alternative sugestions miss a really key point:
