Picking backyard raspberries is one of my favourite summer things, even in the heat, smoke, wind, rain, and so many mosquitoes. It’s such a sense of delicious accomplishment.

Walked to lunch at Nuestra today and also got a gluten free haskap mascarpone pop tart for later afternoon snack. 15 minute cities are the worst.

This is the summer of storms in Edmonton that’s wrecking festivals, sports and concerts but I’m especially sad for Heritage Festival having a tough time as they already had to cancel a full day two years ago from storm damage, and so many awesome newcomer orgs are involved.

This book is fascinating, depressing, infuriating and as Latifi says, indicative of late stage capitalism where everything is commodity so trading privacy for economic stability is understandable. There are some happy stories, but far more loneliness, insecurity and exploitation.
