Suddenly it makes sense. *They think we're using it.* I know people like to feel normal, but that's a leap, right there. It's why their arguments only make sense to them - they're arguments that would convince them, not us. They think we're using this shit, so they can't figure out why we hate it.

I'm reminded of the fact that there isn't a single Red Lobster in the State of Maine. With prices set by corporate, regulations on sales, and every third restaurant having a lobster special or lobster roll, they just couldn't compete.

You might still be able to find a copy of this somewhere. I've seen a few in second-hand bookshops and the like. Last one I saw in the wild was in a Boston bookstore. I'd mail out copies myself, but when I opened the box to photograph the cover, it was full of spiders. 🕷

Dinner last night was going to the beach and walking along the row of snack shacks. Probably the most expensive meal I'll eat all year, but it was worth it. (I had no idea fried Twinkies had become so costly...)

There's a certain comedy inherent in the fact that I'd forgotten all about this; that the administration's own efforts to keep us off-balance by flooding the zone has resulted in crisis fatigue and apathy. There are few people whose health and well-being I care about less than that guy.

Never saw The Rocky Horror Picture Show until tonight, and I had bad thoughts going into it, but leaving it left me with more bad thoughts and even further questions as to why. And I hate to say that... it feels like a film made to poke fun at trans queers, even if it is not explicitly said.

I started to write a joke about Theseus, but with each edit I replaced one of the words, and now I'm not sure if it's actually about him anymore.

Nearly four WEEKS since that accident and I'm still finding broken glass in the car. And deer hair. Every time I attack the back seat with a vacuum cleaner it sounds like I'm sucking up a handful of aquarium gravel.
