Is there a #Botany2026 conference app or way to save/plan your iterinary? Struggling a bit, may have missed instructions...

Wet and windy could never stop field crew picture day. I present the PEACCH Lab field crew of 2026 (thank goodness for start-up edition). The biggest field crew I've ever hired and probably will ever hire and we've been making the most of it.
My team is recruiting a MSc student for a new grant investigating forested wetland responses to Hurricane Helene. The student will lead a GIS project mapping disturbance type and severity in the ETSU Geosciences dept. The catch: they would need to start this fall semester (about a month from now).

Holy COW. Text analysis of comments on the OMB rule: overwhelming opposition, overwhelmingly not form letters. (But 9 in 10 comments supporting the rule ARE form responses, LOL) Whatever happens next, folks have stepped up.
I've had a blast volunteering with Skype-a-scientist the past few years! Highly recommend!
This coming school year's Lego League theme is biodiversity, which means it's about to be all-hands-on-deck for ecologists. Let's get ready for the flood. Ecologists, if you're willing to answer questions from classrooms or LEGO teams, we need ya. docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Just added a couple more job apps (thanks Rachel and Arun!) but if you've gotten a job in industry, academia (R1, PUI, whatever!) in the last 5 years or so, please consider submitting your job app materials to help other folks! github.com/RILAB/statem...

Have you ever wondered why there's such a lack of ectomycorrhizal-affiliated tree seedlings under mountain laurel thickets? Read all about it! This is also my first first-author publication 🥳 authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S...

When fieldwork gets hot, it's always nice to swing by the swimming hole on the way out. The midsummer vibes when the rhododendrons are in bloom are immaculate. #bloomscrolling #rhodendron
I moved away 13 years ago and have never been so homesick as I am now.
Not only is Seattle so far from dying that no one who came here this summer will ever believe it, I have to admit I’m getting jealous of everyone who is just trying to soak up everything in a few days. It must be intoxicating
Science peeps, particularly trainees: When reviewing grants, it really, really helps if you have a Google Scholar page, an ORCID account, or a website that makes getting information about you, easy. Some sort of web presence. I'm begging you. Make it easier for study sections to give you money.
Region Nino 3.4 sea-surface temperatures are in record territory, approaching 3 standard deviations above the 1982-2011 mean, an anomaly that has never happened before in recorded history. The Climate 8-ball says: "four!"
