When Trees Testify by @berondam.bsky.social is one of my favorite books this year, the kind of book that asks you NOT to race through it, but to read a chapter, then put the book aside while you reflect quietly for awhile on where the story of a particular tree has taken you, taken all of us.

Excited to read @berondam.bsky.social’s “When Trees Testify: Science, Wisdom, History, and America’s Black Botanical Legacy” this summer <3 My wife’s also diving into “Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice” from @thellpsx.bsky.social! 10/10 read from last year’s radical anti-zionist book club 🌼

I must have looked entirely too excited to find a pack of these gummy bears in the snack basket as a flight attendant gave me a "to go care package" of them to keep me "smiling all day". 😂😂😂 I have no shame and my inner 5-year-old self will happily pull them out later for a late night hotel snack ❤️!
