He/Him. Livvin. Writes. Supports Arsenal. “Dreams unwind... love’s a state of mind.”

Counterpoint: no? “The Bible As Literature” is a semester. “Comparative Religions of Humanity” is another semester. Let’s not overdo it. Also the implication that public schools and high schools have been doing it wrong is Tim Robinson “are you sure about that?” GIF worthy.

This is correct. You can't understand American literature and history without some understanding of the Bible and of American religious history. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

The rapid, unemotional way Rodri just bailed on City perfectly sums up who he is, and their supporters are right to be angry at him - but it also reveals how little that team matters to players. City is merely a nouveau riche culture project vehicle.

it was a generational fumble for the dems to pull back on letting coach tim, our gentle midwestern uncle, stand in front of a mic and express disgust and bewilderment at what an absolute grab bag of misfit freaks this admin is. this is weird! these people are fucking weirdos!!! it’s yucky!

Trump aide Natalie Harp spent a summer sleeping in the locker room at Trump's Bedminster golf club to remain close to him after she was denied a room.

1) “Is The Bulwak a Republican Psy-Op?” is a much more believable headline tbh. 2) The Centrist Dem and Bulwark freakouts over the DSA are what happens when the Democratic Party polls in the toilet with Democratic voters. 3) The gap between Dem voters and Dem establishment is totes unsustainable.

"The DSA—the official organ—is forking nuts. So nuts that if you told me that the DSA was a false flag operation run by the Heritage Foundation in order to discredit the Democratic party, it would make sense." Today's Triad from @jvl.bsky.social:

Actually, one more - I feel like I should say this directly, so here goes. In the 90s and 00s, the groups I remember pursuing this strategy (hyperpublicize mugshots, Black crime statistics, etc) were Stormfront, the Klan, etc. Now it's the New York Times and the Telegraph. That is the story here.

the reason republican run government is a disaster is because you have to be a dumb asshole to be a republican, you have to be willing to reject any semblance of reality on damn near every issue if you are going to get enough attention on the right to get elected

Heartbreaking, infuriating, and deeply chilling. Gessen’s reportage and scholarship are undeniable. And FWIW the kinder, accepting, and heroic Kansas enduring and fighting back against the creeping Nazism is the America I want to live in.

M. Gessen has written a truly extraordinary piece about the "soft fascism" faced by transgender people in America, and by trans people in Kansas particularly. Beautifully written and reported, deeply humane. I really hope you'll read it. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/13/o...
