"Bad games" apologists / enthusiasts. Not necessarily always talking about bad video games! badgamehalloffame.com twitch.tv/badgamehalloffame youtube.com/@badgamehalloffame

I'm absolutely loathe to do this, but I've set up a GoFundMe in the hopes of making rent this month (owing to my day job not providing me sufficient hours). I ain't given to relying on others for support - especially knowing how much rougher others have it - but I've no choice. gofund.me/201ea5685

'Devil's Third' released on this day in 2015. A Wii U-exclusive third-person shooter as envisioned by Tomonobu Itagaki. Criticized largely for technical issues, as well as an underwhelming campaign. Multiplayer was praised, but stymied by early retail availability issues.

'Bomberman: Act:Zero' released on this day in 2006. Hudson Soft's ill-advised attempt to reboot Bomberman for the modern era. In addition to its tired "gritty" aesthetic, Act:Zero is also plagued by fundamental issues in its design, making for a wholly unpleasant experience.

'OverBlood' released on this day in 1996. A glacial-paced PS1 survival horror set in an frozen-over research center, with an emphasis on puzzles and platforming over combat encounters. Dripping with atmosphere and packed with wonderful character moments, but plays like a chore.

'Mazer' released on this day in 1995. An attempt by American Laser Games to pivot away from their Laserdisc-driven FMV light gun shooters, in the form of an ill-conceived isometric shooter. Gaudy visuals serve to distract from half-baked, utterly unbalanced arcade gameplay.

You probably don't need us to tell you that ModRetro is a company very forwardly run by war criminal Palmer Lucky, and that knowingly doing business with them in the year 2026 is a clear sign that parties involved in any deal with them are too cynical / money-minded to give a shit about that fact.

Every July, the Buck Moon marks a new phase 🦌🌕 This year, it's bringing a very specific Buck back with it 🐝 Buck Bumble for the Nintendo 64 has returned on physical cartridge, available from ModRetro modretro.com/product... #BuckBumble #RetroGaming

'Bullet Witch' released on this day in 2006. A post-apocalyptic third-person shooter from the creators of 'Drakengard' / 'Nier'; with a heavy reliance on utterly busted physics and unreliable magic attacks, plus cumbersome combat and pointless progression hooks.

Obsessed with YouTube's automatic, AI-generated suggested thumbnails for our Bad Game Hall of Fame videos, like lying that our one-off Lester the Unlikely episode is part 42 of a series, or making my witchsona into Todd In The Shadows.

An AI-generated thumbnail for Lester the Unlikely, in an "Expectation vs Reality" format. "Reality" is not a real image of the game. It is labeled as part #42.An AI-generated thumbnail Damnation. My smiling ghost witch avatar is turned into a scowling, hooded rantsona staring at a big red F.

'Kowai Shashin: Shinrei Shashin Kitan' released on this day in 2002. A PlayStation horror title centered around exorcising evil entities from spirit photographs by means of repeated QTEs. Marketed on the premise that the game's development had been "cursed" by the use of ""real"" spirit photos.

'Catwoman' released on this day in 2004. A tie-in to the Razzie award-winning Halle Berry vehicle / DC comic adaptation. The final game developed by the legendary Argonaut Software, who gambled their continued existence on its success. Needless to say, both the game and film did not go over well.

'Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis' released on this day in 2003. A 3D beat 'em up with 360° of movement, hampered by repetitive combat and poor presentation; Battle for Atlantis stars the sea's superhero at his dirt worst. The inspiration for X-Play's infamous "Golden Mullet Award."

'Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge' released on this day in 2009. A crude puzzle game with inconsistent physics solutions, which rose to infamy on the back of its edgy presentation and for the fact it makes for a relatively cheap "gag gift" on Steam.

'Die Hard' released [on NES] on this day in 1991. An ambitious action-adventure tie-in to the 1988 action movie. Tricky controls, an occasionally frustrating "foot health" mechanic, and sometimes confusing progression are obstacles to enjoyment, for some. Underrated / overhated, in our opinion.

'Call of Juarez: The Cartel' released on this day in 2011. Techland's effort to bring the Old West-themed franchise into the modern day. Genuinely novel co-op mechanics are offset by bland gunplay, dull presentation, a litany of bugs, and appalling racial stereotyping.
