Join us for #OccultOctober. Each day, you'll get a simple prompt inspired by symbols, nature, atmosphere and the night sky. Nothing too spooky, nothing too complicated, just small moments of inspiration that you can turn into music or sound.

Ooh, thanks for sharing. This looks like a potential improvement in getting to the Gyle. Now if only there was a good segregated cycle path running *through* Edinburgh Park and the Gyle to actually get you to your office!

Nice new connection from the shared route through Ed College campus through onto the shared path running to Edinburgh Park. Big improvement for getting along to Hermiston Gate safely. @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike #westedinburghlink

The community noticeboard is one of my favourite things. Today has info about BANZAI's screening of the People's Emergency briefing (Friday) and an exhibit on prison nursing at the RCN (today). There's also a link to the lovely roundup of wildlife on the Water of Leith.

I've made it to Irkutsk and am loving this book. It was great to see Jacek Dukaj and Ursula Phillips together at the Edinburgh Int Book Fest because this is a pretty monumental feat of translation.

The cover of Ice by Jacek Dukaj. It's monochrome, with the word ICE vertically centred and has lots of wavy lines. The overall effect is visual movement.
